Britain established a colony so far away from their country because their prisons were too full so they started to transport prisoners to a new land also they wanted a new place to settle people who were in poverty in England and so they can gain wealth in Australia,one other reason is because later on when they found gold in the south.Other reason they canalised Australia is because of trade,the goods that was harvested in Australia were transported back to Britain.On other reason was power,taking control of a other country was a sign of power and strength
