（1） He is working for a big firm and he has already visited a great number of different places in Australia.（and并列的两个句子不是 动词时态一样么?为什么这里不是?还有,既然and前后表示的是一个人,为什么不可以去掉and后面的he?）
（2）so he is finding this trip very exciting（因此,他觉得这次旅行非常激动人心 既然这么翻译,为什么不可以这么写 so he find this trip very exciting?为什么要用进行时态?）

1）虽然 and 是连词,可以连接两个句子,但是前后的时态不一定要完全相同.后半句用现在完成时,意思是“他已经去过澳大利亚很多不同的地方了”.
2）so he finds his trip very exciting 也是可以的.课本没用这种说法,但是并不代表不可以这么用.

我的理解是第一句and是指并且 主语不是同一件事 因为句意是他正在干什么职业并且曾经做过某事 and 是转折不是并列 第二句的话因为那趟旅程还没结束啊 他不是对已经结束的事发表感受
