Even among the hills and vales of Huangshan Mountain, the laughter of 20,000 visitors was echoing. The holiday is much more casual for people at home, especially the elderly. Many old people in Xuzhou City held a climbing contest on Wednesday to mark the birthday of their motherland. All of them were so excited when they were on the top of the mountain that they couldn't help yelling out "Hello, motherland" to the rising sun. And on the beach of the south China city of Shantou, a 300－meter－long dragon－headed kite flew high up in the sky. Ten local artisans made the country's largest kite to extend good wishes for China's prosperity. And the south China city of Nanning has become a gourmet's paradise, where 12 local chefs baked an 8－meter－long birthday cake for the National Day.
